High school football playoff predictions on the Emerald Coast: FHSAA region quarterfinals
One of my favorite lines from sports cinema hails from the incomparable "Major League."
In that movie, after a brutal slog through the regular season and a mountain of adversity fought through for the Cleveland Indians, Jake Taylor tells his team in the locker room, "Well then, I guess there's only one thing left to do. Win the whole (expletive) thing."
That's the attitude at Choctaw and Niceville, where the two powerhouses are set up well in their respective regions. Choctaw is ranked No. 2 in Region 1-4A, while Niceville is ranked No. 1 in Region 1-5A. It feels like region title or bust for both programs.
With that in mind, let's make some predictions for the quarterfinals.
After finishing the regular season with a .802 winning percentage on my weekly pick 'ems, I'm going to expand the predictions to include all the games in the region for Choctaw, Niceville and Walton.
