High level meeting on Browns stadium leads to no decision

CLEVELAND (WJW) – The Fox 8 I-Team has confirmed Cleveland Mayor Justin Bibb met with officials from the Haslam Sports Group Monday afternoon.

Cleveland officials said the meeting was part of the ongoing negotiations between the Browns and the city about the future of the team’s stadium.

The city wants the stadium to stay downtown. Officials with the Browns say they are still trying to decide to either make major renovations at the existing stadium or move to Brook Park and build a stadium with a dome. Browns officials have not said when they will announce a decision.

City officials say they are continuing to have “productive , good-faith discussions” with the team and are looking forward to continuing the talks.
