Here's what Patrick Mahomes' new 'Madden' cover will look like
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Add “Madden cover athlete” to Patrick Mahomes’ list of recent accomplishments.
The Kansas City Chiefs quarterback and reigning NFL MVP will grace the cover of all editions of this year’s edition of the video game, which will be called “Madden NFL 20,” EA Sports announced Thursday.
Mahomes, who became the third quarterback in NFL history to throw 50 touchdown passes in a season last year, is also the inspiration for a new mode in the game called “Face of the Franchise: QB1,” in which users can create their own college quarterback and participate in the national championship playoffs, the NFL scouting combine, the draft and then on to the NFL for a professional career.

“The last year has been life-changing for me and landing the cover of ‘Madden NFL 20’ is both a huge honor and a dream come true as a lifelong ‘Madden’ fan,” Mahomes said in a statement. “I played ‘Madden’ with my dad when I was a kid, and this is definitely a full circle moment for me.”
The honor is the latest development in what has been a busy offseason for Mahomes, who has made the round on late-night shows and nabbed a number of endorsements this offseason, including from Oakley and Hunt’s ketchup.
“Madden 20” will be released on Aug. 2.
