It's a tough blow for the Tigers, who are to be without their best defender for the remainder of the season. The former five-star recruit is also expected to be a potential first-round pick in the 2025 NFL draft, although he still has another year of eligibility remaining.
Perkins Jr. had 17 total tackles, including 1.5 for loss, through four starts this season. He also combined for 147 tackles, 13 sacks, seven forced fumbles and two interceptions through his first two years in Baton Rouge.
