Halloween Costumes for the 2024–25 Vancouver Canucks
Halloween is a great opportunity not just for kids to collect candy but for friends and couples to create matching costumes. This year is no expectation as many NHL teams have already had their Halloween parties and showed off some creative costumes. In honour of the upcoming holiday, here are some costumes Vancouver Canuck players should consider wearing this year.

Brock Boeser and J.T. Miller
Rick Tocchet says that J.T Miller went to the training staff and asked for the “A” to be on Myers’ sweater tonight.
The training staff then asked Tocchet who supported the idea.

Every successful team needs a sharpshooter and a vocal leader, so what better costume for Brock Boeser and J.T. Miller than some Avengers favourites like Hawkeye and Captain America? With unparalleled aim and a skill for shooting arrows, Hawkeye would be a near dead-ringer for Boeser in terms of their abilities. Miller, on the other hand, would excel as Captain America — both the forward and the supersoldier represent the heartbeats of their respective teams. While Boeser and Miller could make a great Hawkeye and Captain America, they’re not the only dynamic duo on this list.
Conor Garland and Dakota Joshua

A pairing infamous for a brief scrap in practice last season, Conor Garland and Dakota Joshua are now one of the closest duos on the Vancouver Canucks. With both players having a determined attitude towards the game of hockey, as well as a fiery style of play, it’d make the most sense for these two to dress as one of the most recognizable duos in this century’s film history — Woody and Buzz Lightyear from Toy Story. The costumes are interchangeable, but the two players’ ability to work together remains the same.

Elias Pettersson’s costume suggestion for this year is simple — pick a soccer player, wear their jersey, put on some more soccer garb, and head out for the night. It’s an easy fix for a question that often takes a lot more deliberation and effort. Besides, with handles like Pettersson’s, it’d make sense for him to dress as someone who can deke as effortlessly as he can. Let’s hope we can see more of these easy handles in the coming games!
Filip Hronek and Quinn Hughes

While Filip Hronek and Quinn Hughes can’t jump very high while on skates (assumedly), their partnership can be costumed as Mario and Luigi. The two brothers have their own unique powers, as well as some that they share with each other, such as jumping and hitting blocks. Hughes and Hronek are similar, as Hughes can skate circles around his opponents while Hronek can wire a hundred-mile-per-hour shot past other goaltenders and into the net.
Kevin Lankinen and Thatcher Demko

— Vancouver Canucks (@Canucks) October 12, 2024
The past few games have told the Canucks fanbase everything needing to be known about Kevin Lankinen — that the net is safe with him in front of it. Making save after save after save, he’s been able to stop nearly everything that’s come his way. Lankinen has looked calm in the net while stealing a save or three with a quick stretch or glove. For this reason, he and fellow goaltender Thatcher Demko should both dress as robbers. These two will be sneaking into the bank of opposing teams’ expected goals for and snatching as many as they can while gleefully running off into the night.
Kiefer Sherwood
A force on the forecheck. 😤

While I’m not sure if this is the most well-suited costume for Kiefer Sherwood, it was the first thing I could come up with. An ambitious athlete looking to hit as many opposing players as possible, he could dress as a member of Peter LaFleur’s Average Joe’s, a dodgeball team from Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story.
Nils Höglander

One of two spark plugs on the Canucks, Höglander could embrace his energizer side and dress as the Energizer Bunny this Halloween. With his high competitive level and drive, he showed lots of promise when paired with fellow high-motor winger Conor Garland. If he can continue putting up this effort on a consistent basis, then he’ll surely be a force throughout the rest of the season.
Rick Tocchet
“We worked on some D-zone stuff. Footy put a really good video together today on how protect the ice a little bit better.”

With this outfit, Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet could definitely dress as a bear this Halloween. Just kidding! While many people could be dressing as Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce this Halloween, it’d be funny to see Tocchet in costume as another Kansas City Chief. With four SuperBowl titles to his name, Chiefs head coach Andy Reid could be a great costume for Tocchet, as well as a hopeful sign of good things to come for the Canucks. After all, like Reid, Tocchet has already won a championship as an assistant coach — could he soon win three of his own as head coach?
Tyler Myers

The 1000-game man has previously dressed as Cruella DeVil, but for another animal-themed costume, Tyler Myers could don something near and dear to the hearts of Canucks fans. Dressing up as a giraffe would feel somewhat like a fourth-wall breakage, paying homage to the nickname that he’s adopted over the course of his years here in Vancouver.
