Recap: Memphis Grizzlies snap 2-game skid with road win over Raptors
Jaren Jackson Jr. started quickly with a team record six steals in the first quarter, Memphis got contributions from across the roster and the Grizzlies ended their two-game skid with a 108-100 road win at Scotiabank Center in Toronto on Monday night.
The Grizzlies had been struggling with so many players out injured, but they brought it defensively for four quarters and managed to beat a Raptors team that has undergone significant roster turnover in the past couple months.
Jackson finished with 27 points to pace the Grizzlies, while four of five starters scored in double figures to help Memphis earn the win.
The Grizzlies conclude their four-game road trip in Miami on Wednesday before returning to Memphis.
Fourth quarter
6:41 left: The Grizzlies are still ahead by 13 as the game goes down the stretch. Jackson is now up to 22 points but has not had a steal since the first quarter.
10:48 left: Toronto was forced to call a quick timeout after the Grizzlies extended the lead to 19.
Third quarter
End of quarter: Grizzlies 85, Raptors 71. It was another good quarter for the Grizzlies, who are set up to pull off the road upset with a good fourth quarter. Santi Aldama left the game after knocking knees with a Raptors player, though.
Four of five Memphis starters are in double figures.
6:41 left: The Grizzlies have come out on fire to start the second half and suddenly have a 16-point lead. Jackson picked up his fourth foul and went to the bench, but Luke Kennard is up to 19 points to lead all scorers and just connected on a 3-pointer to force a Raptors timeout.
Second quarter
End of first half: Grizzlies 53, Raptors 46.
2:03 left: The Grizzlies battled back after the Raptors tied it and have taken an eight point lead. Vince Williams Jr. has 11 points and helped carry the scoring load while Jackson was on the bench. The Raptors are up to 11 turnovers.
9:25 left: The Raptors have quickly erased the deficit and tied the game with Jackson on the bench. As has been the case for the last few games, Memphis has all kinds of issues without Jackson on the floor.
First quarter
End of first quarter: Grizzlies 30, Raptors 25. Jackson is continuing to assert himself and already has a career-high six steals in the first quarter to go along with 16 points. The Raptors have shot the ball well but are struggling with turnovers. RJ Barrett has nine points to lead Toronto.
5:10 left: Toronto has upped the energy, but the Grizzlies still have the lead. Jaren Jackson Jr. has been the vocal point offensively and already has eight points on 4-of-4 shooting.

Grizzlies looking for road win
The Memphis Grizzlies will hope to snap a two-game skid as their road trip continues on Monday night.
The Grizzlies will face the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena after suffering losses to the Timberwolves and Bulls as the first two legs of a four-game road trip that will conclude on Wednesday night in Miami. Memphis is dealing with an injury crisis and has been outgunned down the stretch in its last two losses.
Coach Taylor Jenkins has had to use some players in unfamiliar roles and has also gone deep into his bench. Xavier Tillman Sr. is questionable with left knee soreness, so the Grizzlies could have a little bit more frontcourt depth in this game.
The Raptors (16-27) are now in the midst of a rebuild around Scottie Barnes, having traded away OG Anunoby and Pascal Siakam this season. Toronto has lost six of its last seven games.
Memphis (15-27) is still without seven players, including Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, Marcus Smart and Steven Adams.
