Memphis Grizzlies' GG Jackson, Scotty Pippen Jr. named to NBA All-Summer League first team

The Memphis Grizzlies made plenty of noise during NBA summer league in Las Vegas.

Memphis lost to the Miami Heat on Monday night in the championship game 120-118 in overtime, but Grizzlies fans still had something to celebrate. GG Jackson and Scotty Pippen Jr. were named to the All-Summer League first team, the NBA announced.

Jackson, who averaged 22 points and 8.5 rebounds, and Pippen, who averaged 21.5 points, 8.7 assists and 3.3 steals, were integral to the Grizzlies' run.

Jackson, taken in the second round of the 2023 draft, made the All-Rookie second team after averaging 14.6 points per game, taking advantage of the opportunity when the Grizzlies were overwhelmed by injuries.

Pippen joined Memphis on a two-way deal last season and was a star during summer league. He recorded a triple-double in the Grizzlies' semifinal win over the Clippers on Sunday. Pippen went undrafted out of Vanderbilt in 2022 and signed with the Lakers before joining the Grizzlies.

Miami center Kel'el Ware, Houston guard Reed Sheppard and Clippers forward Jordan Miller made up the rest of the first team.
