NBA Finals: Kevin Durant takes to Instagram after suffering Achilles injury in Game 5
Golden State Warriors star Kevin Durant attempted to return in Game 5 of the NBA Finals on Monday night, his first game back since suffering a calf injury nearly a month ago.
Durant, though, went down in the first half of the Warriors’ 106-105 win against the Toronto Raptors at Scotiabank Arena, and had to be helped off the floor. The Warriors later announced that Durant had suffered an Achilles injury, ending his season.
The 30-year-old, naturally, took the news hard, and was seen leaving the arena before the game ended in a walking boot and on crutches.
He took to Instagram shortly after the Warriors’ comeback win, however, and appeared to be in a better mood. Durant also took the time to recruit Golden State fans to be extra loud for Game 6 of the series.
“Dub nation gonna be loud as f--- for Game 6,” Durant wrote on his Instagram story late Monday night. “I’m hurting deep in the soul right now, I can’t lie, but seeing my brothers get this win was like taking a shot of tequila, I got new life lol. #dubs”

Durant left the game on Monday night with 11 points and two rebounds in just 12 minutes. An MRI is scheduled for Tuesday to determine the severity of the injury.
The Warriors now trail the Raptors 3-2 in the NBA Finals and will host Game 6 of the series at Oracle Arena on Thursday night.
