Golden State Warriors' Draymond Green apologized for fight, isn't expected to miss any games
Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green apologized to his teammates on Thursday, one day after he was involved in a physical altercation with Jordan Poole.
"Draymond apologized to the team this morning," general manager Bob Myers told reporters after Thursday's practice. "Jordan was there in the room, I was there in the room with the team, the coaches, the players and we heard that."
Myers said all disciplinary action will be handled internally, but noted that he doesn't foresee Green missing any games over the incident.
A heated argument between Green and Poole came to blows during practice on Wednesday when Green struck Poole. The Athletic first reported the altercation.

Myers said no one got hurt, adding that Poole finished practice on Wednesday and was present at practice on Thursday. Green left the facility after addressing the team Thursday.
"It’s unfortunate, I’m not going to deny it,” Myers said. “It’ll take some time to move through, but we’ll move through it and move forward and I’m confident that we will. We’ve got a good team, we’ve got good leadership, we’ve got some guys that have been here a long time."
Although he didn't elaborate on what caused the altercation, Myers said he doesn't think the fight between Green and Poole "was related to who is getting paid and who isn't." Poole’s representatives are in discussions with Myers about a contract extension ahead of the Oct. 17 deadline.
Myers described Green as an emotional and passionate "leader on this team" that is known for giving "tough love," but Wednesday's altercation was "over the line."
"Look, it’s the NBA, professional sports, these things happen. Nobody likes it. We don’t condone it, but it happened," he said. "This isn’t our first thing that’s happened, first sense of adversity, we’ve been through some of this before."
This is not the first time Green and Poole have gotten into a heated argument. The two had to be separated by Steph Curry and others last season during the Warriors' 123-111 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Nov. 10 after Green and Poole started arguing on the bench.
The Warriors are coming off a 2022 NBA title, the fourth championship for Green and first for Poole. Golden State is set to open its title defense in the 2022-23 season on Oct. 18.
