Glenn basketball player Libby Lee, a freshman point guard whose 14 points helped the Grizzlies beat previously undefeated and No. 2 state-ranked Liberty Hill on Jan. 12, was voted the Covert Chevrolet Bastrop Austin-Area Girls Athlete of the Week for Jan. 8-13.

Lee received more than 49% of the vote. Hyde Park Baptist's Grace Bagan won the poll for Jan. 1-6.

Lake Travis soccer player Amelia Clark, St. Michael's soccer player Lauren Hill, Navarro basketball player Paulete Mbuangi and Hendrickson basketball player Niyah Waters also were candidates.

The American-Statesman will have a weekly vote for Girls Athlete of the Week and Boys Athlete of the Week throughout the academic year.
