Giants open as 5.5-point road underdogs vs. Steelers in Week 8
The New York Giants (2-5) have opened as 5.5-point underdogs for their game next Monday night on the road against the Pittsburgh Steelers (5-2).
It is the 23rd consecutive game that the Giants have been listed as an underdog -- a continuing franchise record.
The over/under has opened at 37.5 total points with the moneyline at Steelers -250, Giants +200, per BetMGM.
The Giants are coming off a humiliating 28-3 defeat at home at the hands of the Philadelphia Eagles and former star running back Saquon Barkley. At 2-5, they sit alone in the basement of the NFC East.
The Steelers, behind quarterback Russell Wilson, pounded the Jets on Sunday Night Football, 37-15, to take possession of first place in the AFC North.
The Giants are 2-5 against the spread this season and six of their seven games have gone under.
The Steelers are 5-2 against the spread with five of their seven games also going under the total.
The Giants are 0-2 in primetime this season and 1-14 with Daniel Jones as their starting quarterback, going back to 2019.
The Steelers are 1-1 in primetime this season and will be playing in their third primetime game in the last four weeks on Monday.

The Giants lead the regular season series, 44-31-3. The two franchises have never met in the postseason.
The Steelers have won three in a row and four of the previous five games in the series, which began in 1933.
The teams last met on Monday night, Sept. 14, 2020 -- a 26-16 Steelers win.
The most recent meeting in Pittsburgh was on Dec. 4, 2016, a 24-14 Pittsburgh victory.
The teams met every season from 1933 through 1969, except when the series was interrupted by World War II in 1943 and 44.
Since the Steelers moved to the AFC in the 1970 merger, they have played only 11 times, seven in New Jersey and four in Pittsburgh. The Steelers lead in those games, 7-4.
