New York Giants head coach Brian Daboll told reporters on Monday morning that he expects offensive coordinator Mike Kafka and his defensive counterpart, Wink Martindale to return in 2024.

“My expectation is that Wink and Kafka will both be back,” Daboll told reporters. “It’s my expectation that they’re going to come back. I think that they’re good coaches. It’ll be good to have some continuity and bring them back.”

Daboll said he has yet to speak to Kafka and Martindale about their futures. They both were candidates for several head coaching vacancies last year and could be under consideration again this season.

The Giants fired special team coordinator Thomas McGaughey on Monday along with offensive line coach Bobby Johnson.

McGaughey was a holdover from the Dave Gettleman regime and Johnson couldn’t make lemonade out of the lemons he was handed this season. Unfair, yes, but who says this league is steeped in fairness?
