The New York Giants entered Week 1 hoping to get the year off to a good start despite low expectations for the season. With the Minnesota Vikings coming in as slight favorites, the game was expected to be a competitive one between the two teams.

Instead, the Giants came out flat and weren't able to get anything going on the offensive side of the ball. Head coach Brian Daboll had an embarrassing showing in his first game as the Giants' offensive play-caller and quarterback Daniel Jones had a brutal return in his first game back from his season-ending injury last season.

On defense, the Giants forced a turnover on the Vikings' opening drive but were only able to get three points despite starting in the red zone. The Giants' defense did not have much of an answer for Sam Darnold and the Vikings' offense.

With the loss, the Giants drop their season opener for the second straight year. Here's how X reacted.
