Georgia ranked No. 1 in preseason US LBM Coaches Poll
The Georgia Bulldogs are ranked as the No. 1 team in the 2024 preseason US LBM Coaches Poll. Georgia received 46 of 55 first place votes in the poll, which was released on Aug. 5.
The Bulldogs spent much of the 2023 college football season as the nation's No. 1 team. Georgia is the preseason No. 1 in the Coaches Poll for a second consecutive season.
Following Georgia is No. 2 Ohio State. The Buckeyes received the second most first place votes with seven. After Ohio State is No. 3 Oregon. No. 4 Texas, who received a first place vote, and No. 5 Alabama round out the top five.
The SEC has four of the country's top six teams and six teams in the top 12. The Big Ten has four teams in the top 10. No. 8 Michigan also received a first place vote after winning the national championship last season.
Georgia is scheduled to play on the road against three top six opponents (Alabama, Texas and No. 6 Ole Miss). The Bulldogs open the season against the No. 14 Clemson Tigers on Aug. 31 in Atlanta. Georgia also hosts No. 15 Tennessee.
