George football: Updating Bulldogs' college football poll rankings after Clemson game
Georgia football outclassed its opponent in a top 15 matchup Saturday.
So no surprise that the Bulldogs remain atop the US LBM Coaches Poll released Tuesday after the Labor Day weekend. Georgia is also ranked No. 1 in the Associated Press poll.
Georgia very much looked the part of a national championship contender in dismantling then No. 14 Clemson 34-3. Carson Beck threw for 278 yards and 2 touchdowns and the Bulldogs' defense held Clemson to 188 total yards and a field goal.
Georgia rankings update
Georgia received 51 of 55 first place votes in the US LBM Coaches Poll, up from 46 in the preseason poll. The Bulldogs were followed by Ohio State, Texas, Alabama and Ole Miss in the top five.
“Excited to get moved on to pursue getting better,” coach Kirby Smart said Monday flipping the page to the Bulldogs home opener Saturday against FCS opponent Tennessee Tech.
