Game time set for Texas vs. Drexel in 2024 NCAA Women’s Tournament opener
For the Texas Longhorns, March Madness will begin with a matinee.
The NCAA has announced that the first-round tournament game featuring Texas, which has earned a No. 1 seed, and 16th-seeded Drexel will tip off at 2 p.m. on Friday. The Moody Center-hosted game will be televised by ESPNU.
The winner of the Texas-Drexel game will advance to play either No. 8 Alabama or No. 9 Florida State, who will meet at Moody Center at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. That game will air on ESPN2.
This will be the first-ever meeting between Texas and Drexel. Texas (30-4) has won 12 of its last 13 games, and three of those victories were recorded last week while winning the Big 12 Tournament. Under head coach Vic Schaefer, UT is 7-3 in the NCAA Tournament with two trips to the Elite Eight round.
