Game time set for LSU vs Rice in 2024 Women's NCAA Tournament opener

BATON ROUGE — LSU women's basketball is back in the NCAA Tournament for the third straight season under Kim Mulkey.

The Tigers are a No. 3 seed in the Albany 2 Region of March Madness and will play No. 14 seed Rice (19-14) in the Round of 64 on Friday inside the Pete Maravich Assembly Center as they start their path at attempting to win back-to-back NCAA championships.

Kim Mulkey and the Tigers (28-5) finished the 2023-24 regular season on a 10-1 run, with their lone loss coming against No. 1 South Carolina in the SEC Tournament championship game last week.

LSU is led by star junior forward Angel Reese, who is a semifinalist for the Naismith National Player of the Year award, after leading the SEC in scoring (19 points) and rebounds (13) per game.

LSU women's basketball's March Madness first round game vs. Rice will tipoff at 3 p.m. CT inside Pete Maravich Assembly Center. The game will be nationally televised on ESPN and will also be streaming on the ESPN app as well as FUBO, which offers a free trial to potential subscribers.
