FSU baseball beats Bethune-Cookman, while softball wins eighth straight with run-rule victory

No. 13 Florida State (24-4) defeated Bethune Cookman (15-13) with a 5-3 win Tuesday evening in Dick Howser Stadium.

Two home runs in the fifth inning carried the Seminoles, leaving them undefeated in midweek games this season.

James Tibbs III and Max Williams each singled in the third and hit a home run in the fifth inning.

Tibbs' two-run shot was his third consecutive game with a home run and Williams' two RBIs tied his career high. Ferrer hit his third triple of the year, tied for first on the team and 21st nationally.

Five arms threw for the Seminoles during their ninth game in 13 days. Yoel Tejeda Jr. (1-0) earned his first win of the season, throwing a season-high 3.0 innings and striking out a career-high four batters.

Connor Hults finished the game with a career-high 2.0 innings pitched and four strikeouts to earn his first career save.

Florida State travels to Boston College for a three-game series beginning Friday at 3:00 p.m.

FSU softball pushes win streak to eight consecutive games

The 18th-ranked Florida State softball team (26-9) completed an 8-0 run-rule victory over McNeese (23-15) in five innings on Wednesday night at JoAnne Graf Field.

The Seminoles have won eight consecutive game while run-ruling opponents in six of those games.

Florida State will head to Louisville for a three-game weekend series with first pitch set for 6 p.m. on Friday and available to stream on ACC Network Extra.

Another FSU men's basketball player reportedly enters transfer portal

FSU sophomore forward Cam Corhen plans to  enter the transfer portal, according to 247Sports.

The Allen, Texas native was FSU's fourth-leading scorer last season, averaging 9.4 points per game. He also averaged 3.9 rebounds per game. He appeared in 28 games and made 12 starts, while averaging 21.3 minutes per outing.

The 6-foot-10, 225-pound Corhen scored a career-high 25 points against Pitt in early March.

Corhen becomes the sixth player to enter the NCAA Transfer Portal, joining guards Primo Spears and Tom House and forwards De'Ante Green, Baba Miller and Wake Mbatch.
