Frigid weather forecast for Kansas City playoff game adds insult to injury for Dolphins

The weather forecast for Kansas City on Saturday may be rubbing a bit of salt in the wound of a team that was one win away from hosting their own playoff game.

When the No. 3-seed Kansas City Chiefs (11-6) host the No. 6-seed Miami Dolphins (11-6) in the wild-card game, it will be in temperatures forecast at a high of 7 degrees and a low of negative 8 degrees.

The Dolphins, a team generally used to playing in warmer temperatures, lost their Week 18 game to the Buffalo Bills, giving the Bills the division title. The loss pushed Miami to the sixth seed and a road game in frigid Kansas City, while the AFC East champion Bills host their own wild-card clash.

Saturday's forecast in Miami calls for thunderstorms with a high of 81 degrees and a low of 66.
