Four Aggies speak during the second week of Texas A&M's fall practice schedule
Texas A&M's fall practice schedule is into its second week of on-field activity. The 2024 season opener vs. Notre Dame is just three weeks away, and it will also serve as head coach Mike Elko's first game as the program's newest leader after Jimbo Fisher's departure last November.
As I've stated throughout the offseason, no matter what the national media says, this team is poised to contend for a playoff spot if the core of the roster stays healthy, starting and ending with the Aggies' offensive, which was a consistently weak spot during the 2023 season. If the O-line can hold up, redshirt sophomore quarterback Conner Weigman should have a career year adding healthy mass to his frame and enhancing his throwing traits this summer.
Defensively, Texas A&M's defensive line looks as deep and talented as ever, led by former Purdue Edge Nic Scourton, who led the Big Ten in sacks (10) last season. In contrast, senior defensive lineman Shemar Turner and junior pass rusher Shemar Stewart are formidable as it gets in the trenches.
Before Monday's fall practice, DL Albert Regis, OL Chase Bisontis, Shemar Stewart, and OL Mark Nabou Jr. spoke to the media to update their personal development this fall. Here is what all four young men had to say.
