Former Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez and actress-singer Jennifer Lopez are engaged
It’s finally happened. After two years of dating, former New York Yankees slugger Alex Rodriguez and multi-talented actress, singer and dancer Jennifer Lopez are engaged to be married.

The pair took a beach vacation over the weekend, which is where Rodriguez popped the question. They’ve both posted adorable pictures of themselves together lounging in the sand, taking a ride on a boat and Rodriguez even posted a video of Lopez getting in a little vacation dance-workout. But they all pale in comparison to the photo they each posted of the absolutely enormous wedding ring he gave her.
No seriously, the diamond is gigantic. Brace yourself.

The history of A-Rod and JLo
Rodriguez and Lopez have been the world’s cutest couple ever since their pairing went public in March 2017. They gave an in-depth interview to Vanity Fair seven months later (and were also featured on the cover) and revealed the origin of their relationship. The two had originally met in 2005, when Rodriguez was still playing for the Yankees and Lopez was attending a game. They were both still married then, but they weren’t when they ran into each other on a Beverly Hills street in early 2017.
Lopez told Vanity Fair that when she saw him, she went up to him to say hi — something she wouldn’t typically do. He told her she looked beautiful, and a few hours later he called her and asks her out to dinner. Their first date was at a restaurant in Bel Air, but Rodriguez wasn’t sure if it was an actual date.
“I didn’t know if it was a date,” Rodriguez says. “Maybe we were seeing each other at night because of her work schedule. I went in uneasy, not knowing her situation.”
About halfway into their date, Lopez — who thought Rodriguez’s nervousness was cute — decided to make her intentions clear. She told him that she was single, and then he got up to use the restroom and “re-adjust my thoughts.” He gathered his courage and sent her a text message from the restaurant bathroom: “You look sexy AF.” It was fireworks after that, and their relationship was off and running.
Are there any wedding details yet?
Rodriguez and Lopez just got engaged, so there aren’t any wedding details yet. But you can bet that the couple’s kids will be involved. Rodriguez has two daughters, Ella and Natasha, from his marriage to ex-wife Cynthia Scurtis. Lopez has twins Max and Emme from her marriage to ex-husband Marc Anthony.
