Former Ohio State swimmer Hunter Armstrong qualified for the Paris Olympics as a member of Team USA’s 4x100 free relay squad.

Armstrong finished fourth in the 100 freestyle final Wednesday in Indianapolis with in a personal-best time of 47.78.

This will be Armstrong’s second Olympic Games. He won a gold medal in Tokyo as part of the 4x100 medley relay team.

Earlier in the week, Armstrong took second in the 100 backstroke, which could qualify him for that event in Paris. A final determination will be made when the Team USA roster is announced.

Swimming at the 2024 Olympic Games will be held at the Paris La Defense Arena, located in the city of Nanterre. Indoor swimming kicks off July 27 and runs through August 4; in total, 35 medal events will be competed.
