Former NFL star suggests Russell Wilson to the Steelers

The big news out of the NFL on Wednesday was that the Denver Broncos are planning to bench quarterback Russell Wilson to avoid potentially paying injury guarantees in his contract and following that the word got out that the Broncos plan to release Wilson in March.

This prompted former NFL wide receiver Chad Johnson to send out the hypothetical below in a Tweet about Wilson coming to the Pittsburgh Steelers.

The Steelers have had some questionable quarterback play this season. Kenny Pickett went 7-5 as a starter before suffering a high ankle sprain. In his absence, Mitch Trubisky went 0-2 as a starter and Mason Rudolph won his only start. There’s no doubt Pittsburgh should address the position this offseason but is Wilson the answer, even in the short term?
