Former Mississippi State basketball star Jessika Carter signs with Las Vegas Aces

Former Mississippi State women's basketball center Jessika Carter has signed with the WNBA's Las Vegas Aces, the team announced Sunday.

Carter was selected by the New York Liberty in the second round of the 2024 WNBA Draft, but she was waived before the start of the season. Now, she joins the defending back-to-back league champions.

Carter spent six years at Mississippi State, staying put despite seeing four different head coaches come through the program during her career.

Playing across five seasons, Carter averaged 11.6 points and 7.4 rebounds per game ‑ though her numbers improved as her career progressed. In the 2022-2023 campaign, after missing the previous season due to personal matters, Carter posted 14.8 points and 7.7 rebounds per contest.

This past season, she scored 14.9 points per game while adding 9.9 rebounds en route to her third All-SEC second team selection.
