Former Georgia Bulldog running back Nick Chubb, who suffered a major knee injury last year that needed two surgeries, has been predicted to begin the season on the Cleveland Browns' reserve/PUP list by the Athletic's Zac Jackson.

This move would require him to sit out the first four games of the season. His availability for Week 1 of the regular season was already in question, but this move would officially end that.

Chubb suffered the injury in a Week 2 Monday night contest against the Pittsburgh Steelers. The torn MCL and damaged ACL were in the same knee that Chubb injured as a Bulldog in 2015. In that injury, he suffered a dislocated kneecap, a torn PCL, a torn MCL and a torn LCL.

Many feared that last year's injury would be career-ending, but Chubb has been recovered well, and Cleveland expects he will be able to suit up in 2024.

He's not in danger of parting ways with Cleveland after agreeing to take a pay cut in the offseason. However, with only one year left on his contract, he will need to make sure he returns to full health and recaptures his past form. It seems wise for both him and the Browns to put him on the reserve/PUP list.

UGA fans may have to wait until Week 5 to see arguably their best NFL running back suit up for Cleveland.
