A former Cincinnati Bengals draft pick continues to get looks in free agency as training camps continue around the league.

Carl Lawson, a fourth-round pick by the Bengals in 2017, just got a look from the Dallas Cowboys in free agency.

Those Cowboys lost defensive end Sam Williams to a torn ACL and hosted a number of pass-rushers before signing Al-Quadin Muhammad and Shaka Toney.

As for Lawson, he had a quiet 2023 while appearing in just six games with the New York Jets. But in 2022, he had seven sacks and 24 quarterback pressures over 17 games, so the rotational boost to the pass-rush remains for a guy who isn't 30 years old yet.

This isn't to say the Bengals should have an interest in a reunion -- but it might be something to keep in mind if the injury bug strikes.

The Bengals still expect huge things from former first-round pick Myles Murphy. Training camp has already slightly damaged the pass-rushing depth, though, with Sam Hubbard apparently avoiding a serious injury after leaving practice on a cart last week and Cam Sample out an unknown amount of time after leaving on a cart of his own a few days later.
