Flyers Bring Smiles & Halloween Spirit To Children's Hospital

The spirit of the Philadelphia Flyers went beyond the rink this week, as three of the team's young stars paid a special visit to St. Christopher's Hospital for Children.

In a heartwarming display of community and kindness, Tyson Foerster, Bobby Brink, and Jamie Drysdale—who embraced the Halloween spirit in full costumes—spent the afternoon bringing joy to children undergoing treatment.

As the players made their way through the hospital, they were nearly unrecognizable—Foerster was decked out as Super Mario, complete with the iconic red cap and blue overalls; Brink donned a shiny, silver astronaut suit; Drysdale was suited up in the cowl and cape of Batman.

Beyond the costumes, Foerster, Brink, and Drysdale made each interaction with the children memorable. They took photos, signed autographs, and handed out Flyers-themed teddy bears, friendship bracelets, water bottles, and hats.

"Throughout the visit, [we] saw every patient light up," Claire Alminde, the hospital's Chief Nursing Officer, said. "Even kids who were having a tough day, our staff thought might not be up for visitors, 'Absolutely, I'd love a visit!'

"[The players] were big hits. Every hallway we went into, we heard at least one kid yell, 'Mario,' somebody said, 'That's Batman!' The kids were so excited."

"These kids are going through a lot right now," Brink said. "I think it's good for us to come here and try to bring them some joy and maybe a little bit of a distraction from what they're going through."
