Florida State recruiting: 2023 QB Brock Glenn flips commitment from Ohio State to Seminoles
Florida State never gave up on Brock Glenn.
Glenn, a four-star quarterback in the 2023 recruiting class, heavily considered the Seminoles before verbally committing to Ohio State in late July. But FSU’s coaching staff continued to recruit Glenn, a product of Lausanne Collegiate School in Memphis, Tenn.
Their persistence paid off.
On Monday, which is exactly one month away from the start of the three-day early signing period, Glenn flipped his pledge from the Buckeyes to the Seminoles.

FSU quarterbacks coach Tony Tokarz played a major role in Glenn’s recruitment. 247Sports reported that Tokarz visited Lausanne during the Seminoles’ second bye week of the season last month, which showed his unwavering interest in Glenn.
In June, Glenn took an official visit to FSU. That is when he started to develop a relationship with Tokarz and others on the Seminole coaching staff. Glenn then told the Democrat in July that he considered FSU to be one of his top five schools, along with Ohio State, TCU, Auburn and LSU.
“His offensive system is a great fit for me,” Glenn told the Democrat in July about coach Mike Norvell. “And I also love Tallahassee. So if I chose Florida State, it would be because the offensive scheme fits me so well.
“And I truly believe what coach Norvell can do with a quarterback like me.”

A closer look at FSU’s quarterback recruiting in the 2023 class
The Seminoles have experienced a lot of ups and downs with quarterback recruiting in the 2023 class.
Chris Parson, a three-star quarterback from Ravenwood High in Brentwood, Tenn., verbally committed to FSU in July of 2021. Then earlier this summer, the Seminoles made known their intentions to sign two quarterbacks in this cycle.
On May 24, FSU offered a scholarship to a pair of 2023 quarterbacks in Baton Rouge (La.) Woodlawn’s Rickie Collins and Glenn. Those offers seemed to not sit well with Parson, who quickly started to take recruiting visits to other schools.
After weeks of speculation, Parson announced his decommitment from the Seminoles on July 12. Even though Glenn (Ohio State) and Collins (LSU) verbally pledged to other programs, Parson remained firm on his decision before committing to Mississippi State on Aug. 12.
Glenn knew about FSU’s aspirations to sign two quarterbacks. The Seminole coaching staff were clear with him about that plan when they started recruiting him. But whether FSU still hopes to add another quarterback – in high school or the transfer portal – is unclear.
It’s worth noting that on Sept. 2, the Seminoles offered Milton (Fla.) High quarterback Emory Williams. He has been committed to the University of Miami since June.
“What I love about them so much, coach Norvell and his entire staff, is that they have been extremely open and honest with me throughout this whole process about everything,” Glenn told the Democrat in July.
“They are not trying to hide anything. They are keeping it straight up with me, 24/7.”
