Florida State football recruiting: Penn State commit DB Conrad Hussey flips to Seminoles

Florida State added another commitment to its 2023 high school recruiting class.

Conrad Hussey, a defensive back from Fort Lauderdale's St. Thomas Aquinas, announced that he is flipping his comment to the Seminoles on Wednesday on Instagram.

Hussey originally committed to Penn State in April, but his most recent official visit to Florida State on Dec. 9 may have helped flip his decision. Miami also was a threat to flip him.

The 6-foot defensive back is rated as a 4-star recruit according to all three major recruiting sites. He is ranked as the 11th-best safety prospect in the 2023 class, as well as the 38th-ranked prospect in Florida and 164th overall, according to 247Sports.

On3 lists him as the 18th-best safety and 248th-ranked player, while Rivals has ranked 32nd at his position and 245th nationally.

Joseph landed a scholarship from FSU near the beginning of his senior season, on Sept. 6. He also reported offers from Miami (Sept. 5), Louisville (Sept. 6), Auburn (Sept. 25), South Carolina (Sept. 26), Michigan (Oct. 12) and Oklahoma (Oct. 31) during the season.

Per MaxPreps, Hussey recorded 29 tackles, three interceptions and five passes defended.
