Florida State's latest verbal commitment did not have a recruiting profile on Rivals and On3 at the time of announcing his pledge.

That's how relatively unknown Quindarrius Jones – an unrated and unranked defensive back in the 2023 class who committed to the Seminoles on Saturday – is to the recruiting world.

Jones' standout performance at FSU's Elite Camp last Sunday, though, caught the attention of the Seminole coaching staff. At least enough that they extended the Meridian (Miss.) High product his first Division I scholarship offer Tuesday.

The 6-foot-2, 187-pound Jones didn't need to wait to receive other offers or visit Tallahassee again before reaching his decision. FSU defensive backs coach Marcus Woodson headed Jones' recruitment.

With Jones' addition, the Seminoles now hold eight verbal pledges in their 2023 class. Earlier on Saturday, FSU received a commitment from a 2023 JUCO defensive end in Hutchinson (Kan.) Community College's Jaden Jones.

The eight-player class ranks No. 16 (On3), No. 22 (Rivals) and No. 31 (247Sports) nationally on the three major recruiting services.
