Five-star recruits Colin Simmons, Dakorien Moore on sidelines for Texas vs. Wyoming
Some of Duncanville's best are on Texas' sideline for its game vs. Wyoming.
Colin Simmons, a UT commit and the top 2024 edge player in Texas, is in attendance. He's joined by Dakorien Moore, an LSU commit and the No. 2 receiver in the 2025 class.
Lots of recruits here today, including prized DE pledge Colin Simmons, a 5-star edge rusher from Duncanville and a top Texas target for the 2024 class. His Duncanville teammate Dakorien Moore also here. The 5-star WR for 2025 an LSU pledge but he's Bevoing tonight. Flip 🎯? Sure

Simmons committed to Texas in August over LSU, Miami and SMU, making him Texas' first 2024 five-star recruit. In 2022, he had 22.5 sacks, 33 tackles for loss and 45 quarterback hurries as Duncanville went 15-0 and won its first state championship since 1998. In the state final vs. Galena Park North Shore, Simmons was chosen the defensive MVP after collecting two sacks in the 28-21 victory.
"It came to the last little moment," Simmons said during the On3 livestream. "I just want to take care of my family, and I feel like Texas put me in the best position to take care of them."
Some other blue-chippers on the sidelines:
Ryan Wingo, WR, St. Louis
D’Antre Robinson, DL, Orlando
Andrew Marsh, WR, Katy
Daniel Cruz, OL, North Richland Hills
Michael Fasusi, ATH, Lewisville
Big weekend for the recruiting staff. They like showing off DKR w/ the night games.— Thomas Jones (@ThomasJonesAAS) September 17, 2023
Those two aren't the only recruits in DKR, however. WR Ryan Wingo, DL D’Antre Robinson, WR Andrew Marsh St., OL Daniel Cruz and ATH Michael Fasusi are also in attendance.
Texas currently has the No. 17 ranked recruiting class according to 247sports. Their most recent addition was Zina Umeozulu, a four-star edge rusher from Allen, pledged to Texas on Tuesday.
The Longhorns had a top five recruiting class in 2023, and will need to put in the work if it wants to repeat that performance for its 2024 class.
