'First class': ESPN announcer notes 'very cool' moment between Caitlin Clark, Jackie Young
Indiana Fever rookie Caitlin Clark lost control of the ball and her balance in the opening minutes of Tuesday night's game against the Las Vegas Aces.
Jackie Young, Indiana high school basketball's career leading scorer and a national champion with Notre Dame, took an extra moment to make sure Clark was OK.
After stumbling, Clark re-tied her shoes. Young joined her and gave her a few encouraging words.

Debbie Antonelli, ESPN's courtside analyst, noted the gesture.
On the air I immediately mentioned how first class this was by #JackieYoung to give #CaitlinClark a chance to re-group. It was a vet move and a sportsmanship move.

Clark and Fever teammates Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell were named to the WNBA All-Star team. Young is on the U.S. Olympic team. Those teams will meet July 20 in Phoenix as the Olympic squad tunes up for the 2024 Paris Games.
