Filip Forsberg's hot streak continues as Nashville Predators' victory against Canucks

Filip Forsberg's scoring tour continued Tuesday.

The Nashville Predators forward, who will be an unrestricted free agent after this season, recorded his fourth consecutive multi-point game, tying the franchise record.

Forsberg scored two more goals during the Predators' 4-2 victory against the Vancouver Canucks at Bridgestone Arena, which happened to be goalie Juuse Saros' 100th career victory.

Defenseman Dante Fabbro and forward Eeli Tolvanen returned to the Nashville Predators lineup Tuesday, just in time to face to go back on an extended break with the All-Star Game this weekend.

The Predators' next game is scheduled for Feb. 9 in Dallas.

Fabbro hadn't played since Jan. 15 because of an upper-body injury, while Tolvanen had been out since Jan. 21 while on the COVID list.

It took the Canucks nearly eight minutes to record their first shot on goal. Two shots and 16 seconds later Vancouver's Matthew Highmore broke the scoreless tie.

Ryan Johansen's 13th goal of the season retied the score less than seven minutes later.

Forsberg's 23rd goal, his fourth game in a row with at least one, untied it in favor of the Predators a little more than a minute after that.

But the stubborn Canucks retied it at 2-2 two minutes later on Oliver Ekman-Larsson's score.

Forsberg, though, inched closer to David Legwand's franchise record for goals with the 202nd of his career, second of the game and 24th of the season on a power play with 16:48 left in the second period.

That gave the Predators a 3-2 lead and left him eight short of tying Legwand.

Tanner Jeannot's 14th goal made it 4-2 less than 90 seconds into the third period.

The Predators are 28-14-4. The Canucks are 20-20-6.
