Fantasy football waiver wire: Should you keep or cut these 7 players ahead of Week 4 in 2024?
You’re waking up on Tuesday reading all that you can about the players that you should be picking up off the waiver wire as you prepare for Week 4 of fantasy football in 2024.
But it’s likely there aren’t as many things written about who you should be dropping to grab those players. That’s what this weekly column — keep ’em or dump ’em! — will hopefully answer for you: Some help in the debate over who you should keep or drop in order to improve your team.
It's not the best of waiver wire weeks heading into the fourth slate of games, but let's talk about who to keep or drop:
1. WR Christian Watson, Green Bay Packers
He caught a touchdown in Week 1 and had just two catches last week, albeit for 67 yards. I'm more curious about his usage when Jordan Love returns, so maybe you wait a week to see what happens.
VERDICT: Keep him
2. TE Taysom Hill, New Orleans Saints
Dude was meh in the two weeks he played and missed the game against the Eagles with a bruised lung. You have to wonder if, when healthy, he gets more touches in a high-powered Saints offense, and given the tight end position right now, he could be a TE1.
But I'm not buying it for now. He may have some boom weeks later, but that's not worth the roster spot.
VERDICT: Drop him
3. WR Keon Coleman, Buffalo Bills
In a keeper league? Obviously, someday, he's going to be a star. In re-draft? I'm on the fence. Khalil Shakir is the top receiver and they've got Dalton Kincaid. I'll say he's a drop but I may regret it.
VERDICT: Drop him
4. RB Gus Edwards, Los Angeles Chargers
Another one where I'm on the fence. He did get some work in the first two weeks but that dropped off when J.K. Dobbins stepped up to RB1 status. If you need the room, he's droppable.
VERDICT: Drop him
5. RB Ezekiel Elliott, Dallas Cowboys
Just 19 carries in three weeks. I think you wait until after the Giants game on Thursday to truly assess this situation.
VERDICT: Keep him
6. RB D'Andre Swift, Chicago Bears
The usage is there with double-digit carries. The yardage is not. I'd say you keep him one more week as well. But after that, if he's bad again, you can drop him.
VERDICT: Drop him
7. QB Caleb Williams, Chicago Bears
Last week gave me some hope, so let's hang on for another round.
VERDICT: Keep him
