‘You f---ing need me’: Jimmy Butler reportedly practiced with Minnesota while cursing out team execs
The Jimmy Butler saga just keeps getting more and more dramatic.
Following a report from ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski that the Miami Heat are restarting Butler trade talks with the Minnesota Timberwolves, Woj dropped another Butler bomb on the world. According to his sources, Butler practiced with the Timberwolves on Wednesday. And it went about as well as you’d imagine it going.
All-Star Jimmy Butler participated in Minnesota's practice, a session that included him verbally challenging teammates, coaches and front office, league sources told ESPN. Butler was vociferous and emotional at times, targeting Thibodeau/Layden/Towns/Wiggins. Story soon on ESPN.

That sounds bonkers, but there were even more details.
At one point in a scrimmage, sources said, Butler turned to GM Scott Layden and screamed, "You (bleeping) need me. You can't win without me." Butler left teammates and coaches largely speechless. He dominated the gym in every way. Jimmy's back.

Woj clarified what Butler said in his ESPN story:
“You f—ing need me. You can’t win without me.”
What exactly does someone say after one of their teammates screams “You f—ing need me. You can’t win without me” at practice?
Jimmy may be back, but who knows for how long it’ll be with the Timberwolves. He very clearly doesn’t want to play for them (despite reportedly shouting “you f—ing need me” during Wednesday’s practice), but Minnesota hasn’t been able to get any offers that equal what they gave up for Butler last year. It’s an uncomfortable situation at best. But considering how Butler handled practice with his current team, he’s doesn’t seem bothered by it at all.
