‘Excited to watch my guys put on a show.’ Conner Weigman pens emotional message after season-ending injury

Texas A&M sophomore quarterback Conner Weigman’s 2023 season sadly ended after Wednesday’s news that his then-minor ankle injury was much worse than we anticipated, as a CAT scan revealed a broken bone in his foot that will sideline him for nearly four months.

Veteran southpaw Max Johnson brings a wealth of experience to the position, though Weigman’s productive three-and-a-half game resume was only the start of his future stardom. Still, all of that will now have to wait until his exciting return in 2024.

For the first time since his injury, Conner Weigman took to Instagram to update us on his plans for the future while backing his teammates for the rest of the 2023 slate. While fans continue to try and understand the horrible luck regarding Texas A&M’s quarterback injuries over the past decade, Weigman’s resilience and unbeatable work ethic should help every Aggie cope with some added comfort, knowing he’ll return better than ever.

“It has been a wild week, but wanted to say I really appreciated everyone who has reached out with their support and prayers, especially all of my Aggie family!❤️ It’s a tough pill to swallow knowing I won’t be able to be in the foxhole with the boys for the rest of the season, I love everyone one of them like a brother and I already know the show will go on! In the mean we are going to eat rehab for breakfast, while being the biggest Aggie cheerleader there is. Excited to watch my guys put on a show.” 🤟

While it’s still unknown whether he will be on the sideline during the midst of his rehab this season, every one of his Aggie teammates has likely dedicated this season to No. 15.

Texas A&M will now travel to AT&T Stadium to face the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 11:00 a.m. CT., and air on the SEC Network, as Max Johnson will make his first start of the 2023 season.
