Texas A&M's (7-2, 5-1) seven-game winning streak ended at the hands of South Carolina in the worst loss of the season, as the Aggies fell 44-20 inside a packed and very loud Williams-Brice Stadium.

Looking lifeless in the second half, the Gamecocks took full advantage of the Aggies' lack of physicality, outscoring the road team 24-0 and ending the national media's approval of Texas A&M as a College Football Playoff team. However, head coach Mike Elko knows that their postseason goals will still be alive when he and the team resume play after this week's bye.

" I would imagine that if we win our next three games, everything will take care of itself."

Texas A&M is currently favored in two of the final three regular-season games. However, the season-ending injury to star running back Le'Veon Moss has thrown a wrench in the Aggies' offensive game plan, needing quarterback Marcel Reed to become more of a threat in the passing game if he resumes in the starting role.

On Tuesday night, the Aggies will find out where they stand amid the first CFP Playoff reveal. They are likely on the outside looking in after dropping to No. 15 in the AP Top 25 after falling to South Carolina.

Tied with Georgia at the top of the SEC standings, the Bulldogs will face Ole Miss on the road, while Alabama vs. LSU is the deciding factor for both programs' CFP chances.

Texas A&M holds the tiebreaker over LSU, while a win over the Texas Longhorns would cement the Aggies' chances of earning a bid if they take care of business against New Mexico State and Auburn.
