What Clemson basketball coach Brad Brownell said about 2024 signing class including Ace Buckner
The early signing period for men's basketball opened Wednesday and Clemson signed all three of its commitments in the 2024 recruiting class.
The class includes two four-star recruits and one three-star, making it the first year with multiple four-stars since 2020. That year, the Tigers signed current center PJ Hall and two other four-star prospects.
As for recruiting rankings, the Tigers entered the day with the No. 16 class in the country, per 247Sports Composite. That would be the highest ranking since coach Brad Brownell took over in 2010.
Here's a look at who has signed with Clemson so far, with the most recent additions at the top.
Del Jones, G
Four-star point guard Del Jones was the third and final 2024 commitment to sign with the Tigers on Wednesday. The 6-foot-2, 180-pound prospect is in his senior year at Compass Prep in Chandler, Arizona, but he is from Arlington, Virginia.
He is the No. 9 player in his state and the No. 9 point guard in the class, per 247Sports Composite. He was the most recent player to commit to the class when he announced on Oct. 23.

"Del is a superfast combo guard that has played against a lot of great competition in both high school and on the EYBL circuit," Brownell said in a school release. "Offensively, he excels in the open court by attacking the paint and creating offense for himself and others . . . We certainly feel like he has the ability to impact the game on both ends of the floor while at Clemson."
Dallas Thomas, F
Dallas Thomas is the highest-rated recruit in Clemson's class. The 6-7, 170-pound four-star out of Parkview Magnet in Little Rock, Arkansas, committed to the Tigers in July. He is the second-highest rated prospect to commit to Brownell, behind only Hall.
Thomas averaged 16.4 points, 9.4 rebounds and 2.1 blocks per game as a junior last season. He is the No. 2 player in Arkansas and the No. 16 power forward in the class, according to 247Sports Composite.

"Dallas is a highly skilled forward with tremendous length that allows him to score at all three levels," Brownell said. "Dallas has a great feel for the game and high IQ, having the benefit of being raised by a father who was a good Division I college player and was coached in high school by Arkansas legend Scottie Thurman.”
Ace Buckner, G
A 6-1 combo guard from La Lumiere School in La Porte, Indiana, Buckner committed to the Tigers on Oct. 20 and was the first to sign his letter of intent. The three-star prospect is the No. 2 player in Indiana and the No. 23 combo guard in the class, per 247Sports Composite.
Buckner averaged 14 points, four rebounds and four assists per game as a junior last season.
He is the son of former Clemson player Greg Buckner, who was a four-year starter for the Tigers from 1994-98. He was drafted 53rd overall by the Dallas Mavericks in 1998 and spent 10 years in the NBA.

“Ace is another combo guard who is comfortable playing with or without the basketball in his hands," Brownell said. "He’s an excellent on-ball defender who, with strength, will excel at that end of the floor. Offensively, he can make threes off the bounce or catch and has a quick first step which helps him play in the paint.”
