Duke basketball’s March Madness opponent is Vermont to open 2024 NCAA Tournament bracket
Duke basketball earned a No. 4 seed for the 2024 NCAA Tournament and will face No. 13 Vermont (28-6) on Friday in Brooklyn as part of the South Region. The game will be televised on CBS/TNT/TBS/truTV.
For the fifth time in program history, Duke (27-7) enters the NCAA Tournament on a losing streak. The Blue Devils are 2-2 in the opening game when entering the event on a losing streak.
Duke, which has a 24-8 record, lost its regular-season finale to rival UNC before falling to ACC Tournament champion NC State in the quarterfinals of the ACC Tournament. Houston is the top seed in the South Region.
In March Madness last season, the Blue Devils were bounced by Tennessee in the Round of 32 in Orlando, Florida. Head coach Jon Scheyer’s Blue Devils are led by 7-footer Kyle Filipowski and a plethora of guards, including senior captain Jeremy Roach and freshman Jared McCain.
