Drake sends shoutout to U.S. champion Little League team
Hours before Maine-Endwell Little League took the field for the United States championship game against Goodlettsville, Tenn., the kids from New York were greeted with an unexpected message from an unknown fan with a worldwide fanbase.

It’s not clear if there’s a connection here or if Drake was just looking for a new team to support since Canada was eliminated from the tournament earlier this week. Whatever the case, it appears, once again, he knows how to identify a winner.
The New York club entered Saturday’s final with a 3-0 record, which included a win against Tennessee in the tournament’s second round. Tennessee recovered to win three straight games, meaning both entered Saturday’s final with confidence. In the end though, Maine-Endwell proved too much, winning 4-2 behind 11 strikeouts from pitcher Michael Mancini.
Maine-Endwell will go on to face Seoul, South Korea in the world championship on Sunday afternoon. South Korea advanced to the finals by avenging its only defeat in Williamsport, topping Panama 7-2 in the International final earlier Saturday.
The South Korean club will seek the country’s second Little League World Series championship since 2014. Maine-Endwell Little League will look to bring the first world championship back to New York since 1964, and they’ll do so now knowing the support of the entire country in behind them.
You can catch the world championship game on ABC beginning at 3:00 p.m. ET on Sunday.
