Drake Maye impresses New York Giants in Hard Knocks clip

The first-ever offseason Hard Knocks series is underway with episode two featuring the New York Giants was released on Tuesday night. The first edition of this series gives fans access to the offseason including the pre-draft process, free agency, and the 2024 NFL draft.

It’s really fantastic content and gives fans a look at the behind-the-scenes stuff that goes on for NFL teams. That includes NFL draft prospects meeting with Giants personnel ahead of the draft, going over film. And during Tuesday’s episode, former North Carolina Tar Heels’ quarterback Drake Maye was featured.

The episode showed Maye sitting down with Giants’ brass and going over formations and plays with head coach Brian Daboll. Maye was really impressive with how he took in the plays and read them back off to the coaching staff:

Another clip from the episode showed Giants’ general manager Joe Schoen talking to Patriots general manager Eliot Wolf about a potential trade up to No. 3. Their target was Maye as the Giants had hoped to swing a deal for the quarterback.

It didn’t get done and instead, the Patriots landed Maye while the Giants ended up with Malik Nabers at No. 6 overall.

Time will tell if the Patriots made the right choice not to move the pick and select Maye.
