Down the road: Koby Gross leaves FSU, transfers to FAMU

Former Florida State tight end Koby Gross will only be 2 miles down the road as he announced on social media Thursday that he's transferring to FAMU.

On Wednesday, Gross tweeted that he was offered by FAMU, donning the team's green uniform.

A day later, Gross took to Twitter to declare his commitment to the Rattlers, posting a montage of personal and team highlights and typing:

"I got a gold trophy from the committee for validation! OPPORTUNITY & REDEEMED!!"

He followed up his initial tweet, stating: Thank you for bringing me into the FAMULY...LETS GET TO WORK!!

ABOUT KOBY GROSS

Gross is a redshirt junior from San Ramon, California, graduating from Pittsburg High School in 2019.

At Pittsburg, he was touted a 3-star recruit by 247Sports.

Before arriving at FSU, Gross played at Diablo Valley College.

While at DVC, he was ranked the No. 1 tight end prospect by ESPN and 39th in the ESPN JuCo50.

After committing to Florida State on June 24, 2020, Gross competed on the Seminoles' scout team.

With the addition of Gross, the Rattlers now have six players on their roster that are direct transfers from Power 5 programs.
