The Miami Dolphins elevated veteran wide receiver Robbie Chosen to the active roster for a Week 2 game against the Buffalo Bills, the team announced Thursday afternoon.

It's the second time in as many weeks that Chosen has been moved up to be made available while the Dolphins are struggling with injuries at the wide receiver position. Fourth-round rookie Malik Washington is nursing a quad injury that has kept him out for the first two weeks, Odell Beckham Jr. is on the PUP list, and River Cracraft is on the injured reserve.

Chosen, 31, played 12 offensive snaps in the Dolphins' Week 1 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars, but wasn't targeted at all by quarterback Tua Tagovailoa.

The Dolphins are able to elevate any player as many as three times from the practice squad. After that, the player must be moved to the 53-man roster to be available to play. Miami can move Chosen up one more time after Thursday before it'll be forced to use a roster spot if it hopes to have the veteran receiver make another appearance.

Chosen, who recorded 1,096 receiving yards during his 2020 season with the Carolina Panthers, spent much of 2023 with the Dolphins. In nine games with Miami, Chosen caught four passes for 126 yards and a touchdown.
