DK Metcalf was training with Russell Wilson in June

The Seattle Seahawks have one of the most dynamic wide receiving corps in football. It is a unit headlined by DK Metcalf, Tyler Lockett, and rising star Jaxon Smith-Njigba. The receiving corps in Seattle helped the Seahawks transition from Russell Wilson to Geno Smith, allowing Smith an embarrassment of riches when it came to offensive weaponry.

But let’s not forget how dymanic this team was during the Wilson era, even in the last few seasons. Wilson had an electric connection with Metcalf and Lockett, remaining close friends with Metcalf even to this day.

In late June, video surfaced of Wilson (now with the Pittsburgh Steelers) training with Metcalf.

This of course loudened the chorus among Steelers fans who wish to see their team make a move to acquire the Seahawks star via trade.

It would have to take quite a king’s ransom to pry Metcalf away from the Seahawks. He is currently under contract for two more years, and at age 27 he is still in his physical peak. It is hard to imagine a scenario right now where Metcalf is not a Seahawk in either of the next two years, or playing without a contract extension.

For now, Steelers fans are likely going to have to keep dreaming, or make the trade themselves on Madden.
