DJ Moore on Bears' success: 'Winning is the best thing we can do'

As the Chicago Bears (4-2) continue to show growth, development, and success early in the 2024 season, there's been plenty games where some players rise above others. Case in point, against the Carolina Panthers in Week 5, superstar wide receiver DJ Moore, facing his former team, had a huge performance, with five receptions for 105 yards and two touchdowns.

The performance for Moore was the biggest one he's had on the young season, the only game where he eclipsed 100 yards, and scored two of his three total touchdowns this season. With the offense continuing to grow with rookie Caleb Williams at the quarterback helm, there are going to be games in which different players will have their own standout performances.

Against the Jacksonville Jaguars, there were two different offensive weapons who shined for the Bears offense as tight end Cole Kmet and wide receiver Keenan Allen both had two receiving touchdowns on the day. Those four touchdowns between the two were accompanied by a D'Andre Swift rushing score to give the team their five total touchdowns in the win over the Jaguars.

Given that it can be anyone at any time who sees the most production on this Bears offense, egos have seemingly been put aside. Speaking to 670 the Score on Monday, Moore said the main thing from his aspect is the team's success and individual stats are not his priority.

"Winning is the best thing that we can do, no matter what the stats say," Moore said. "I feel like we can be a team that goes for the long run this year."

As Moore mentioned, the individual stats are not his biggest focus. Being a winning and contending team later in the season, is the main priority for this Bears team, as the franchise has only made the playoffs twice in the past six years. With the NFC North division having a 17-5 record, the best record in all of the NFL, it'll be crucial for the Bears to find success in the second half of the season, where they will face the entire division in the later stages of the year.
