Is Diontae Johnson playing today? Injury updates for the Panthers WR in Week 7
Once again, we are on Diontae Johnson watch as the Carolina Panthers inch closer to kickoff. And once again, the sixth-year wideout is in line to suit up.
According to ESPN senior NFL insider Adam Schefter, Johnson is expected to play in today's matchup against the Washington Commanders. Johnson—who was listed on the final Week 7 injury report with three separate injuries—is considered questionable for the contest.
The 28-year-old did not participate in the practice sessions on both Wednesday and Thursday due to an ankle issue. He'd then return as a limited participant on Friday, but with added notes on his ribs and hamstring.
Head coach Dave Canales had the following to say about Johnson entering the weekend:
Johnson currently leads the Panthers in receptions (29), receiving yards (340) and receiving touchdowns (three).
