Dez Bryant goes on lengthy Twitter rant hours before meeting with Jerry Jones
Dallas Cowboys wideout Dez Bryant isn’t exactly laying low before his meeting with team owner Jerry Jones on Friday. On Thursday night, Bryant went off on a lengthy Twitter rant, in which he said the media was trying to “destroy” him.
Bryant’s rant began with him saying he was “very sad” that the media has been out to get him this offseason.
Some pointed out that if Bryant was really “un [expletive] bothered,” he probably wouldn’t have posted that message on Twitter. Bryant responded to some of those fans, saying he was “still getting myself together.” One reporter suggested Bryant felt “at peace,” and Bryant agreed with that assessment.
An hour after his original tweet, he gave his “take from today.”
The take from today.. I’m bothered because I said publicly I’m unbothered That’s a huge wow take 2 I’m ranting and going off on the media whenever I’m just being normal Dez in my everyday life.. I can only control what I can control is what I tell myself…again unbothered

For the next couple hours, Bryant shared tweets and photos from fans cheering him on, responded to some fans criticizing his play and revealed himself to be a massive fan of the show “Dragon Ball Z.” So, you know, a pretty normal night on Twitter.
Bryant’s rant came at a curious time. On Friday, Bryant will meet with Jones to discuss … well, no one really seems to know. Most believe the team will either ask Bryant to take a pay cut next season or possibly release him.
Bryant has seen his numbers decline in recent seasons. In 2017, he caught 69 passes for 838 yards and six touchdowns. That’s a far cry from his stats in 2014, when he caught 88 passes for 1,320 yards and 16 scores.
There’s a reason the meeting has to happen now. If Bryant participates in the team’s offseason program Monday and gets hurt, his salary would be guaranteed in 2018.
Bryant said he would keep everyone updated after the Friday meeting with Jones, so it’s possible Thursday night’s action is a taste of what’s to come.
