Detroit Tigers select high school pitcher Ethan Schiefelbein with No. 72 pick in 2024 MLB draft

The Detroit Tigers selected left-handed pitcher Ethan Schiefelbein with the No. 72 overall pick on Sunday night as part of Competitive Balance Round B in the 2024 MLB draft.

Schiefelbein was the third pick by the Tigers in this year's draft, following high school shortstop Bryce Rainer with the No. 11 overall pick and high school right-handed pitcher Owen Hall with the No. 49 overall pick.

The No. 72 overall pick comes with an MLB-determined bonus slot value of $1,093,600.
