Detroit Red Wings' Dylan Larkin (lower body) out approximately two weeks

The Detroit Red Wings will be without their leading scorer approximately two weeks.

That was the bad news delivered Monday by coach Derek Lalonde, who revealed captain Dylan Larkin suffered a lower-body injury in Saturday's loss to the Florida Panthers.

Two weeks would sideline Larkin through the upcoming trip that begins Wednesday at the Colorado Avalanche and seven games total.

"We'll probably have a better feel for his progress after the road trip," Lalonde said, which would be the middle of next week.

Larkin leads the Wings with 26 goals and 54 points in 55 games. He missed four games in December with an upper-body injury, during which time the Wings went 1-3, but they were also without J.T. Compher and David Perron at that time.
