Detroit Lions practice squad tracker 2024: All signings, departures

The Detroit Lions have constructed their practice squad for 2024, a day after setting the official 53-man roster to start the season.

Their biggest move they made on practice squad: bringing back Jake Fromm over Nate Sudfeld as the third quarterback.

The Lions can bring up to 16 players not on an NFL team to build out a practice squad to face starters in Allen Park practices and provide the ultimate depth. Teams started filling out their practice squad after 12 p.m. Wednesday once the waiver period ended, where teams could claim players cut by other teams to join the 53-man roster.

The Lions cut the roster to 52 players on Tuesday, leaving one spot open to pick up linebacker Trevor Nowaske, who was cut by the Arizona Cardinals. The Lions signed wide receiver Tim Patrick, who was released by the Broncos, to a practice squad deal Tuesday, opting to leave the spot open for the waiver window.

Here is a full list of the 16 players joining the Lions' practice squad, as well as a list of Lions who spent training camp in Detroit and are now with a new team. The Lions announced their practice squad moves shortly after 4 p.m. Wednesday.
